So, what started off as a hypothetical joke between friends has now turned into something very real, exciting and challenging. After being a little fed up over the summer of not going on holiday anywhere I suggested I should just 'run off' to France. After an incubation period in my brain, I came to the conclusion that it would be a brilliant idea. (N.B. no alcohol had been consumed in this thought process)
Then came the deliberation and after careful thought and help from family and friends I decided that that might be a little too much, as blisters / dead feet would not be very good when I can't say 'I have very sore feet, please take me home' in French.
I wasn't to be deterred! Thanks to my Dad I decided to run a section of the Cornish Coastal path which is split in a guidebook into many different walks. So the plan is to run 150 miles from Bude to Penzance over 5 days. I will average about a marathon or more a day and then plan to sleep for a good while when I get to Penzance!
I will be running for charity, nothing yet has been set in stone with the charity but I have decided to run for the Alzheimer's charity.
Dates are to be finalised once I know some specifics relating to my university course but next May is the plan!
Training is to commence soon and if anyone wants to help motivate me then that would be very much welcome!
I wanted to do something different this year and I think this is sufficiently different :) madness maybe, but I'm looking forward to the challenge!
